SUMMARY:Facebook Live Webinar: Zirconia - a suitable material for dental implants and restorations?
DESCRIPTION:Webinar with Prof. Dr. Florian Beuer \nWe cordially invite you to participate in the PROSEC Webinar on Wednesday\, May 17\, 2023. \nJoin Prof. Dr. Florian Beuer (Charité Berlin) to hear his lecture:\nZirconia: a suitable material for dental implants and restorations? \nThe following link will take you to the PROSEC Facebook page. There you can start the Livestream at 6 pm CET. www.facebook.com/prosec.networks/ \nWe recommend that you log in on Facebook before starting the Livestream. This prevents any interruptions due to Facebook’s login requests. \nWhat is the topic of the webinar?\nOver the last decades\, zirconia has become one of the most interesting materials in restorative dentistry. In implant dentistry\, all-ceramic materials have been used for more than 50 years. First alumina was the material of choice which showed acceptable osseointegration but inferior mechanical properties. Today modern zirconia materials exhibit enough stability for long-term clinical success. However\, the market share of dental implants fabricated from zirconia is still below 2 % in Europe. An important point might be the question of one-piece or two-piece concepts. Two-piece titanium implants as the golden standard offer prosthetic advantages compared to one-piece zirconia implants. Two-piece zirconia implants are associated with a certain minimum diameter and difficulty to mount the abutment to the implant without applying tension to the zirconia implant. \nThe lecture will give an overview of zirconia implants available on the market and their scientific background. Furthermore\, a clinical concept for zirconia implants and zirconia restorations on titanium implants will be given. \nObjectives of this webinar: \n\nShare current knowledge about zirconia implants\nCompare one-piece vs. two-piece zirconia implants\nHighlight all-ceramics on dental implants

SUMMARY:Digital technologies for the minimally invasive oral rehabilitation of worn dentitions
DESCRIPTION:Webinar with PD Dr. Alexis Ioannidis \nWe cordially invite you to participate in the PROSEC Webinar on Wednesday\, 15th February 2023.\nJoin PD Dr. Alexis Ioannidis to hear his lecture about digital technologies for the minimally invasive oral rehabilitation of worn dentitions. \nThe following link will take you to the PROSEC Facebook page. There you can start the Livestream at 2 pm CET. https://www.facebook.com/prosec.networks/ \nWe recommend that you log in on Facebook before starting the Livestream. This prevents any interruptions due to Facebook’s login requests. \nWhat is the topic of the webinar? \nErosive tooth wear is a frequent problem in industrialized countries. To compensate for the loss of tooth structure indirect restorative treatments may be indicated. Conventional prosthetic approaches require extensive preparation of the already damaged dentition and may lead to biological complications. From this point of view\, it is crucial to prepare the teeth as minimally invasive as possible. At the same time\, the restorative materials should withstand high occlusal loads and meet high aesthetic standards. Individual case-by-case and tooth-by-tooth decisions. following a diagnostic process are key to success in the rehabilitation of worn teeth. Digital technologies can help us achieve these goals effectively.

SUMMARY:Artificial Intelligence in Prosthodontics
DESCRIPTION:Webinar with Prof. Dr. Tim Joda \nWe cordially invite you to participate in the PROSEC Webinar on Wednesday\, 18th January 2023. \nJoin Prof. Dr. Tim Joda to hear his lecture:\nArtificial Intelligence in Prosthodontics\nDisruptive Innovation: What it is and what could be next? \nThe following link will take you to the PROSEC Facebook page. There you can start the Livestream at 6 pm CET. https://www.facebook.com/prosec.networks/ \nWe recommend that you log in on Facebook before starting the Livestream. This prevents any interruptions due to Facebook’s login requests. \nWhat is the topic of the webinar? \nThe oral healthcare sector is significantly influenced by the ubiquitous trend of digitalization. Some of these digital developments have the potential to result in disruptive changes for dental practice\, while others may turn out to be just a pipe dream.\nUp-to-date reconstructive dentistry focuses on innovations built on artificial intelligence [AI] as the center-technology influencing (1) dental e-health data management\, (2) clinical and technical healthcare applications\, as well as (3) services and operations. AI systems enable personalized prosthetic workflows by analyzing all e-health data gathered from an individual patient. Besides dental-specific data\, this also includes genomic\, proteomic\, and metabolic information; and therefore\, facilitates optimized treatment strategies including risk prediction. Based on the power of AI\, the triangular frame of data <> care <> service is supplemented by technological advancements in the field of social media\, internet of things\, augmented and virtual reality\, rapid prototyping\, and intraoral optical scanning as well as telehealth.\nThe focus on patient-centered research and the development of personalized dental medicine has the potential to improve individual and public health and to clarify the interconnectivity of disease in a more cost-effective way.

This prevents any interruptions due to Facebook’s login requests. \nWhat is the topic of the webinar? \nBiomaterials should be bioactive in stimulating the surrounding tissue to accelerate the ingrowth of permanent implants. Chemical and topographical features of the dental implant surface affect cell physiology at the interface. A frequently asked question is whether the chemistry or the topography dominates the cell-material interaction. \nTo answer this\, the requirements of the specific tissue at the interface should be considered. To improve the attachment of the gingival cells on the neck region of dental implants different planar hybrid ceramics and glass-ceramic materials were proofed and compared in vitro. \nJoin the webinar to learn more about the research results.

SUMMARY:Immediate loading and immediate implant placement
DESCRIPTION:Webinar with Prof. Dr. Sigmar Schnutenhaus \nWe cordially invite you to participate in the PROSEC Webinar on Wednesday\, 23rd March 2022. \nJoin Prof. Dr. Sigmar Schnutenhaus to learn more about immediate loading and immediate implant placement. \nVarious implant loading protocols have been established in practice. Clinical studies provide information on indication-related concepts that demonstrate a good prognosis of implant survival rates and implant success rates. Immediate loading\, which is mostly long-term provisionalized\, is a procedure that ensures a comparable prognosis to late restorations if suitable case selections are made. \nThe advantages of immediate implant placement include reduced overall treatment time and\, in combination with immediate loading\, immediate placement of a fixed provisional restoration. \nImmediate restorations are very positively evaluated by patients and can consequently be included in a practice concept. In this lecture\, clinical aspects of immediate loading and immediate implant placement will be comprehensively discussed in theory and on the basis of treatment cases.

SUMMARY:Biomechanical aspects of implant reconstructions
DESCRIPTION:Webinar with Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Christoph Hämmerle \nWe cordially invite you to participate in the PROSEC Webinar on Wednesday\, 16th February 2022. \nJoin Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Christoph Hämmerle to learn more about the biomechanical aspects of implant reconstructions. \nWhat is the topic of the webinar?\nThe clinical aim of implant therapy is to provide artificial abutments to support dental prostheses. These prostheses are inserted in order to allow masticatory and speech function as well as provide pleasing esthetics for the patient. During masticatory function and also during parafunction\, forces are transferred from the occlusal contacts through reconstructions and implants to the bone and the surrounding tissues. This force transfer comprises biological and mechanical components. The balanced interplay between these forces and the biomechanical response and resilience of the implant-supporting tissues is the basis for long-term success and stability. The present lecture will shed light on clinically relevant biomechanical aspects of implant-borne reconstructions.

SUMMARY:Webinar with Prof. Dr. Hämmerle and PD. Dr. Ioannidis
DESCRIPTION:We cordially invite you to participate in the PROSEC Webinar on Wednesday\, 1st December 2021. \nJoin Prof. Dr. Christoph Hämmerle and PD Dr. Alexis Ioannidis to learn more about the Prosthetic Rehabilitation of Patients with Erosive Tooth Wear. \nThe following link will take you to the PROSEC Facebook page. There you can start the Livestream at 5 pm.\nhttps://www.facebook.com/prosec.networks/ \nWe recommend that you log in on Facebook before starting the Livestream. This prevents any interruptions due to Facebook’s login requests. \nWhy should you join this PROSEC Talk?\nErosive tooth wear is a common problem in industrialized countries. In order to compensate the loss of tooth substance\, indirect restorative treatments may be indicated. Traditional prosthetic concepts require an extensive preparation of the already hampered dentition and can lead to biological complications. From this point of view\, it is crucial to prepare teeth as minimally invasive as possible. At the same time\, restorative materials should withstand high occlusal loads and high aesthetic demands should be fulfilled. Individual case-by-case and tooth-by-tooth decisions which follow a diagnostic process are key to success for the rehabilitation of worn dentitions.

SUMMARY:PROSEC Active Partner Workshop
DESCRIPTION:The PROSEC Active Partner Workshop will be held from September 13th to 14th 2019\, upon invitation from the Scientific Board. \nAn overwhelming majority of participants at the PROSEC Partner Meeting in January voted in favor of a gathering of all working groups (WG) on a specific date. \nThat is why we decided to implement a joint workshop for all PROSEC Partners who are actively involved in the PROSEC Network going forward – whether clinically\, scientifically or in the field of education. \nThe workshop aims to stimulate a systematic exchange and transfer of knowledge\, as well sharing of clinical experience\, among the participants.
