Documentation Summary IV
The Documentation Summary IV is the literature research on implants (comparison of titanium and zirconia) as well as metall-free treatments commissioned by PROSEC and certified by DEKRA. On 272 pages it summarizes the studies with products from VITA Zahnfabrik and vitaclinical.
It sums up the relevant studies since 2013 and serves as a scientific basis for future changes. In conclusion, it may be stated:
- Long-term studies have shown that single-piece zirconia implants with post-processed surfaces prove to be outstanding.
- Teeth and implants can be successfully restored, particularly with monolithic ceramics – zirconia variants, zirconia-reinforced lithium silicate and lithium disilicate.
- Clinical data must be available for a longer period of time before two-piece zirconia implants can be recommended for everyday use in practice.
